Lime Light SA shaved / sprayed 185 heads, raising R9 250. Thank you! Catch the vibe in their video ‘Shavathon Hair Looks Fierce’!

Red Panda Software hosted a Shavathon Event recently and managed to raise R14 000. Thank you! The company donated R500 per staff member who shaved their head (no.2 clippers), or who was prepared to cut off a fifth of their hair. Twenty-eight brave employees in total! View Gallery:

Laerskool Phalaborwa (Groenskool) hosted a ‘cut and donate’ day at the school on the 23 March 2015 and collected R6 000-00 and wait for it …. 85 pony tails from the Gr.R to 7 girls!

2015: Thank you to Discovery’s Sandton, Centurion, KZN, Cape Town & PE branches who hosted Shavathon events during our Corporate Shavathon week and raised a whopping R101 553-10!

Bridget Ball, a 13 year old high school learner, donated 30 cm of her hair for the CANSA Shavathon campaign. She has been growing her hair since she was born, so that she could donate her hair to help those affected by cancer.

March 2015 – Presenter, Sam Mangesi, finds out more about what goes on at a CANSA Shavathon event. He chats to participants regarding their motivation for shaving, spraying or wrapping their hair and for volunteering.

Shavathon participant Ingrid, shares that her reason for shaving her head, is to honour her mom and mom-in-law who both died of cancer. Ingrid nursed both of them, took them to chemo and was their hospital buddy.

Thank you to our supporters at AfriSam, supporting CANSA and Shavathon since 2008! Staff from many AfriSam branches participated during Corporate Shavathon week: Head office, Roodepoort, Brakpan, Vanderbjilpark, Coedmore, Ladysmith, Verulam, Newcastle, Pietermaritzburg, Rheebok, North West and Northern Cape. Among our fantastic online fundraisers for Shavathon 2015 are The Hair’s Angels for CANSA, who are a team of 14 women who have shaved their heads bald in support of cancer Survivors and the CANSA Shavathon. They have raised a total of R65 860 * (R52 760 from 16 online donations & a further R2000 donation off-line, as well as a donation of R11 100 off-line from Nedbank)
