CANSA is deeply saddened by the loss of a long-time friend, and supporter, Mark Pilgrim.
One of South Africa’s most treasured radio personalities, Mark was also a beloved CANSA Ambassador supporting CANSA Shavathon as well as being a Daredevil champion and numerous fundraising events in the capacity of MC for many years. It took quite a bit of hustling, negotiating and hard work to get the first Shavathon off the ground. Thank you Simon for the initiative you took – Shavathon is now a firm favourite on the South African calendar and well loved by all affected through cancer. Simon’s message to everyone: “If you are thinking about it, just do it – stop talking, get out there and do it, that’s when great things happen!”
